IT-GIS (Geographic Information Systems) Specialist

The Village is seeking applications for a full-time IT-GIS (Geographic Information Systems) Specialist. Responsibilities include maintaining/updating maps, design of graphic/non-graphic data sets, GIS server configuration and management, and deployment of GIS on mobile (iOS) devices. Hours vary between 8 a.m. -7 p.m., Mon. - Fri. Required: Bachelor’s (or BA in progress) in GIS or computer science; 2+ years of GIS experience; proficiency in MS Office 2007 or greater; ESRI ArcGIS desktop software version 10 or higher; GIS on iOS mobile devices; and ArcGIS Server installation, configuration, and maintenance. The hiring of Police Officers is conducted through the Plainfield Police Commission selection process whereby testing leads to an Eligibility List.  Our current list expires November 15, 2015.  Notice will be posted when testing will occur and applications will be accepted at that time.
