The Village of Plainfield welcomes applications for a full-time cross-trained Electrical/Building Inspector. Candidates with field experience in commercial electrical and/or Commercial Electrical Inspector Certification are preferred. In addition, Residential Electrical Inspector Certification and a Building Certificate are encouraged. A successful candidate will have the ability to function in a team environment and effectively communicate, both orally and in writing, with the public, Village staff, and representatives of other agencies. The job requires the ability to work within the Village’s New World Software System, Microsoft Office software, and have a valid driver’s license in good standing. Candidates shall supply a list of all I.C.C. Certifications with their application. Continuing education and involvement with professional organizations is expected. Salary Range: $23.47- $38.11 per hour, corresponding with experience, plus benefits, including participation in the Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund. The hiring of Police Officers is conducted through the Plainfield Police Commission selection process whereby testing leads to an Eligibility List. Our current list expires November 17, 2017. Notice will be posted when testing will occur and applications will be accepted at that time.
