A Message From Chief Doster •  Police Department 2008 Annual Report

Crime Reports - Incident data range is from 1/1/2008 through the present date.  Incidents may take four to seven days to appear after they occur.

With a current headcount of 51 sworn officers, plus 22 full-time and 11 part-time civilian employees, the Plainfield Police Department is attempting to keep up with the growth of the community.  We are also looking at different options of organizational structure to best utilize our personnel in protecting and serving the people of Plainfield.

As the Village expands in both population and geography, we continue to apply new technology and strategy to meet the needs of residents and visitors.  If you have any questions or comments, please feel free to call!

A Message From The Chief:

The men and women of the Plainfield Police Department are especially proud to have the opportunity to serve the citizens of Plainfield.  As Will County’s Oldest Community, we have a rich history of working with our residents to create a safe and friendly Village.  The partnership is very important to the Department, as it provides clear expectations and allows us to establish our overall goals and objectives.

For the police officer to be effective there must be mutual respect between the Department and the Community it serves.  This unique partnership ensures that we remain in concert with the public in achieving our primary goal of providing a community where citizens feel protected from crime.

Sincerely,

William Doster
Chief of Police
